So, from the comments and emails I got from HowtoSelfDestruct.com, it looks like Mark Sanford takes the self-destructor crown in his head-to-head match up against Sarah Palin. Personally, I think both these governors bit it by bailing on their constituents. But to the victor his spoils: Mark Sanford, you win the Jeffrey Skilling Award for Self-Destruction!

In the next head-to-head match up, we don’t stray too far from the political, but jump over to the 4th estate, as I ask: who’s dropped the ball more from a journalistic standpoint, Anderson Cooper for embracing News Lite in primetime, or Lou Dobbs for the way he channels Ellsworth Toohey and introduces nonsensical, populist tripe into important conversations just to jack up his own ratings?

I hope this match up inspires some young citizen journalist to pick up the mantle left behind by the late, great Walter Cronkite and set up… what? A blog?

Dammit, that can’t be good, can it?
