The Premise

Do people really want to fail?! No.

Wait, I take that back. Yes.

I believe people want to do what’s right—like tell the truth, work hard, persevere, be respectful—but they struggle because they also want to avoid being naive or taken advantage of. Which leads to some pretty spectacular behavior.

Look around: the challenges you face, are they created by successful people doing what’s right? Or are you dealing with too many people taking the easy way out, holding others down, refusing to cooperate, and helping themselves at someone else’s expense?

My guess is, the people creating issues for you are not doing what’s right. (Until they look in the mirror. Then, they’ll all little angels, every last one of them.)

How to Self-Destruct is the very first self-development program built around how people like you actually experience real life.

The Book Trailer

“Geez, I wonder what would happen if Jason made a cheesy little movie to support his book, in which he took on a Winston Wolf persona and blew up four hapless employees after harshing on their life choices?”

Really? You do?

Boy, are you in luck!

Praise for How to Self-Destruct

axiom-gold-award “Gold Medalist, Best Career Book 2008″
—Axiom Book Awards

“This book is a winner. Jason Seiden is a winner.”
—Jeffrey Gitomer, bestselling author of The Sales Bible

“Jason has written a very smart and funny book with a serious message that appeals to the best in his readers.”
—Dr. Michael Horowitz, President of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology

“Seiden’s approach is fully tongue-in-cheek. But he disguises it so well—and writes in such humorous fashion—that you almost find yourself cheering for the underachiever to remain just that…”
—Review, Grand Rapids Press

“With a sharp wit and a keen eye for what really happens behind the curtain in organizations, Jason sheds light on some of the essential truths we encounter in the world of work. The results end up hitting you in the head, the heart and the gut.”
—G. Hallenbeck, Ph.D. (This guy literally wrote the book on behavioral interviewing.)

“In this book, the author, an accomplished business consultant, eschews a traditional approach of cataloging a litany of all the right things to do in favor of a more edgy and devilish approach of teaching the ways to lose and self destruct. The result is more [a] powerful, interesting and effective way of identifying good practices than the traditional approach.”
—Morrie Much, Partner with the law firm Much Shelist

“I wanted to fail, flame-out, hit my head with a checkered Vans slip-on, but I made the mistake of reading the entire book – cover to cover. Don’t make that same mistake, or you might learn something about how to succeed at business or even life itself. Great job Jason!”
—Mark Treschl, CTO, OpinionLabs

“Shockingly, the behaviors that could ruin your career are identical to the ‘play it safe’ strategy most of us use to advance and protect our careers.”
—Mark Stelzner, founder of JobAngels

“The most entertaining book I’ve read in the career advice sector. Period.”
—Lance Haun, Your HR Guy

“Jason is a great writer.”
—Laurie Ruettimann, Punk Rock HR

“Utterly hilarious… a wake up call.”
—Pimp Your Work

“Very well done. It made me laugh… it also made me think.”
—Jenn Barnes, HRWench

“I learned more about career development by reading this book than I did from earning my MBA, and I certainly laughed a whole lot more.”
—G. Katz, reader in Dallas

“Funny and Intuitive, leaves you feeling there is hope, and change is possible.”
—K. McRae, reader in Chicago

“[Jason has] succeeded brilliantly.”
—C. Foundas, reader

“Light and easy to read.”
—L.G. Cosby, reader in Chicago

“The right amount of humor and sage advice mixed together.”
—L. Lazar, reader in Chicago

“Witty, incisive, and very, very fun to read.”
—Dr. M. Gaubatz, reader in Chicago

“This is by far the most informative book that I have read recently. It takes you by the hand and walks you through how to really stand out at work and excel in your most challenging situations.”
