Locked Out

May 22, 2010

My home office has these wonderful French doors.

That lock.

From the inside.

Which is great if you’re trying to prevent an attention-seeking dog from coming in while you’re on a business call,

but no so much if someone’s set the lock without you knowing it and you close the doors behind you on your way out to dinner.

Oops.

It took me 30 minutes to break back into my office. (Yeah, these are no simple inside-door-pretend locks I’ve got on these doors—these are real deal locks.)

It wasn’t until I broke three paper clips and then remembered a credit card-sized magnifying piece of plastic tucked in a back drawer in the kitchen that I was able to get back in.

Now.

Here’s what I learned from the experience:

Nothing.

Zippo.

Not a thing.

Want to know why not?

Because not everything is a learning opportunity, silly!

Sometimes, things that happen are just funny stories.

Enjoy your life.
