Making “Competencies” Actionable

What does it mean, exactly, when you say someone “demonstrates courage,” “shows initiative,” or “is a good problem solver?” How do you test for things like “loyalty” and “integrity?”

These are the questions I am going to explore over the next two weeks, starting this week with:

• Courage
• Decisiveness
• Loyalty
• Initiative
• Ability to handle Ambiguity.
