Meet Carol Roth

August 12, 2010

If you like my stuff, you need to meet Carol Roth, too.

She recently interviewed me and it’s worth watching… especially at the end.

Carol shares my attitude on life. She focuses it on entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs, handing out cold, hard feedback to dreamers before they go and max out their credit cards to fund that Next Great Idea.

I’ve known Carol for a long time… like since we were three. We grew up in neighboring towns, went through Wharton as undergrads together, and both moved back to our hometown stomping grounds. Clearly, there was something in the water.

Check out the interview, and take a look at her site. Especially if you’re thinking of quitting your day job, you’ll want to hear what she has to say before taking the plunge.

I just recently discovered Carol and subscribed to her feed — I like her straight up style and common sense approach to everything. More people should write “real” life actions that the everyday business person can starting doing immediately — now! Instead, we have people theorizing with buzz words that lack quantifiable results. I recently picked up a book about businesses and ego so my favorite post from Carol was “Stuck in Business, Get over Yourself!”

@Kimberly—It’s dangerous to come out from behind buzzwords… Ya gotta really tip your hat to someone like Carol who can call it like she sees it.

So was Carol the one who showed up late to the party to give you the gift?

Informative interview, practical concepts, and why I want you to help us in our organization.

Thomas
