Through work, I occasionally have the opportunity to help someone going through a job transition. Though outplacement consulting is not my primary work, it can be highly rewarding to help a capable individual maintain sanity during a transition and land a bigger and better position… Last year, I got a request through my LinkedIn network for a project position. I made a recommendation that was ultimately accepted, and the fit was so strong that the project was extended into a full time position. I felt great to have been able to connect two very capable individuals with such positive results, and it made me a believer in the power of LinkedIn.
…then I read this article about Laura Levitan and I was utterly humbled.
