Social Media: Are You On It Or Do You Use It?

April 18, 2010

30 million people on LinkedIn North America.
300 million on Facebook from around the globe.

If you’re reading this, you’re on social media.

Great.

The question is, how do you use it?

Is it a time suck?
Social platform?
Money maker?
Alternative to TV?
Reality enhancement?
Something to talk about?
Way to meet people?
News source?

Social media is a terms that is maddeningly vague. What does it mean to you? We get that you’re on it…

…but if you had to describe social media in terms of what you did with it, what would you call it then?

A connection to what is possible- a group of collaborative- like minded people that are willing to help each other. It could be business, personal, social, economic, any topic- any country, any hour of the day- there is always someone available to join the conversation….I use it for ideas and inspiration, and to be able to quickly stay on top of what is going on in the outside world. And yes, instead of or parallel to TV, or while running or waiting at/ through airports or riding as a passenger in a car.
