Carol Roth, an advisor to entrepreneurs who, as it turns out, is not only a seriously sharp cookie when it comes to launching businesses but also a classmate of mine from Wharton and also—get this—nursery school, stopped by my fancy-schmancy podcast studio this afternoon to talk entrepreneurship.
Listen to the podcast in the widget in yonder sidebar, or click here if you’re checking this out via RSS… and then use the widget in the sidebar.
Key take-aways from Carol: (1) If you are going to start a new biz, you need to be FIRED UP, which means you need to have the right Financial position and Inspiration, sufficient freedom from Responsibilities/attachments, relevant Experience, and Dedication to the solving the problem you want solved. (2) Success requires the right person, at the right time, with the right opportunity. All three need to be present.
Then there’s all the stuff I’ve written about, too, like the 3 E’s of entrepreneurship and your crash course in money + business.
Put it all together and you’ve got everything you need to assess whether of not you’re ready to go!
